Will (Legal) Immigrants Save Us from the Madness?

https://twitter.com/PACTstopcrt/status/1425648216700297217?s=20

An unidentified Chaldean Christian immigrant from Iran had a few words for the Loudoun County Public School Board three days ago. He’s not happy with the idea of public schools propagandizing students “like the ayatollahs did.” If anyone saves Americans from themselves, it will be (legal) immigrants like this man. He has an idea so crazy it just might work: schools should focus on teaching reading, writing, math, and science!

Hope he runs for and gets elected to school board up there.

So glad I’m no longer in NOVA. In the ’50s and ’60s it was a wonderful environment for rearing a family and taking advantage of museums, concerts, educational, recreational, cultural opportunities in the greater Metro D.C. area.

Alas, now not so much I fear.

I’m 62 and I’ve lived in NoVa almost my whole life. I left from time to time when my Dad was stationed elsewhere while an active duty Naval officer. NoVa used to be a great place. Great education. Safe. Sensible. It is now a full blown dumpster fire. A small cadre or blithering idiots have taken over the political agenda. Most come from failed states up north (Kathleen Murphy, anybody?). In three years my youngest son will leave for college. That’s the day I leave along with my income, taxes, etc.

        NoVa is doomed.

Consider North Carolina. House construction is going well. Got my first real estate tax bill (land only) from Wake County and the town of Wake Forest. So I’m on my way.

Bully for you on at least leaving NOVA at some point.

FL has no state income tax and one of the lowest (FPL) elec rates in the country, not to mention a GOP Gov. Don’t own an ice scraper, snow shovel, boots or overcoat.

I too had lived most of my life in VA, the growing up 1/3 in Richmond, the second 1/3 in NOVA, and the last 1/3 in Tidewater. Did have one year in D.C. and one in Milwaukee.

Been south for four years and have never looked back, other than I miss The Tobacco Company (hope it gets rebuilt) and Margie and Rays in Sandbridge.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – if the Republicans want to win in Virginia the key demographic is Asian. Indian, Korean, Middle Eastern, Chinese – doesn’t matter. Asians account for over 20% of Fairfax County’s population. Culturally they generally believe in the value of education and the reality of the American dream. They (and I) believe that the kids who test with the highest scores are the kids who should be admitted to Thomas Jefferson. If that means 70% of the admitted children to TJ are Asian so be it. As a White man I could care less. Merit counts. Glenn Younkin and the rest of the GOP in Virginia need to wake the f*** up. Northam and his fellow clowns from the left have opened a door. Time to walk through.

As an aside, I prefer to be referred to as Commodore. Since it’s apparently very, very woke to allow people to pick their monikers I choose “Commodore”.

God bless you. GHS ’77. First class to graduate from the new facility on Quander Rd.

I played ball with a lot of the boys from ’76. Great crew.

        1. It would be hard to convince me that there was a more integrated and diverse school in Fairfax Co in the 1970’s than Groveton. It was a melting pot

There wasn’t a more diverse school in Fairfax County than Groveton in the 1970s.

I keep reading on this blog how racist the schools in Virginia were. Kids being taught about “happy slaves” and the War of Northern Aggression.

Can you imagine Mrs Harris’ reaction if that crap were taught?

Some parts of Virginia might have been very racist in the 70s. I certainly met more than my share of racist Richmonders when I got to UVa. But Groveton? Not that I recall.

The sane teachers in Loudoun will need a prozac salt lick to make it through this year.
