Send in the Clowns

By Dick Hall-Sizemore

So, the party that is so concerned about election “integrity” leaves its primary ballots overnight in a hotel ballroom, which a housekeeper is able to enter undetected until later.  So much for the credibility of this group.

It’s becoming pretty clear what the GOP is about these days with regard to elections.

Putting these guys in charge of elections in general sounds not good.

      Neither.

Sorry, but this post, unfortunately, is a reflection on policy, not the song of a little birdie preening before his audience.

      It’s okay. You’re forgiven.

So you agree that ballot security, even for a primary for the party that can’t shoot straight, is a genuine concern?
Great. Now let’s do it for elections that actually count.

They do it for elections that count… which is why it wasn’t done here.

Let’s be clear. When the GOP says “ballot security”, it’s a euphemism for voter suppression.

Voting should be super easy and convenient, with appropriate safeguards, after election audits, and reports detailing cases of fraud and other anomalies.

But NONE of these issues should be used to prevent people from voting.

    it’s just bogus.

When more people vote, it typically is bad for the GOP, in no small part, because the GOP often seems to believe that voters should adopt their philosophy as opposed to the GOP actually representing the interests of ALL of the voters, not just their shrinking core constituency.

When we see people of color, blacks, Hispanics, Asians and other immigrants voting in numbers for the GOP, we’ll know the GOP has changed their stripes and truly wants to represent all voters.

Make it EASY to vote but HARD to vote illegally. It’s not that hard.

Where else have you seen four livestream views of the rooms where the counting is being done? Ballots were not compromised by the housekeeper delivering water and soft drinks.

Well ballots and election equipment is kept under lock and key with on-site security at least in my county.

No one can access any of it without proper credentials.

Looks like it’s going to be Youngkin over Snyder in the next round.
