The Bacon family has a tradition of assembling every year to take a Christmas card photo. In the COVID epidemic, that wasn’t possible in 2020, so we gathered on Zoom. We’ll miss our other tradition, reuniting for a Christmas Eve feast with friends and relatives. Still we are profoundly thankful for how blessed we are. We have our health, we have gainful employment, and we have each other. We yearn for the day when all Virginians can say the same. — JAB

Will the Bacon family be eating bacon for Christmas?

Jim, and all contributors and commenters to BR —
Thanks for what you write.
It makes me think. Usually, that’s not a bad thing.
Wishing you all and all of you a wonderful Christmas (or your holiday). May you enjoy time with your family with the hopes of being safe and secure. I’m not convinced that 2021 will be better, but I have hope.
I will light a candle in the darkness.

PS: Jim, what a great job you do….

Merry Christmas great captain of the SS Bacon!

Merry Christmas to all. And may 2021 be full of intellectual challenges for all of us BR posters.
-
Well, that’s a given.
-
Intellectual challenges are not my goal, but as NN said, probably inevitable.
In spike of many things that concern me, I’m hopeful for the coming year. We may have differences in policy preferences, as does the country, but I believe most want a better future for all. I pray that comes to pass.
I also hope and pray that those injured in Nashville this morning will be okay, and they find whoever did this.
