I do not know if this is good news or bad news for Jim Sherlock’s campaign, but Aubrey Layne, currently the Secretary of Finance, will be joining Sentara on July 1. (This is about the time during an administration that Cabinet members start jumping ship.)

His recent discussion on inflation in front of Senate Finance was a lot more gloomy than what you are hearing from the Rosy Scenario Crowd at the Fed.

AAAAAAGH….Oh, well, had to happen at some point, but he has one more budget to write. I certainly would have been begging him to stay into a new admin, but at some point one needs to make the Big Bucks. And this looks like a great challenge for his talents.

Unlike Ric Brown, who stayed on through administration after administration, serving governors of both parties. McDonnell and McAuliffe had to ask several times before he agreed to another reappointment.
