Don’t California Our Virginia

Delegate Elizabeth Guzman

by Kerry Dougherty

Whatever you do at the ballot box in Virginia, do not return Democrats to power in Richmond.

Or anywhere else.

You’ve been warned.

Leftist Northern Virginia Delegate Elizabeth Guzman (D-Dale City), announced Thursday that she’s re-introducing legislation this year that would protect LGBTQ children from their parents.

Chew on that for a moment.

This is a push-back against Governor Glenn Youngkin’s department of education regulation that requires kids who identify with a gender other than the one they were born with to have parental permission to change their appearance and pronouns.

This sort of common-sense rule has made Democrats apoplectic.

Guzman’s bill, she said, would expand the definition of child abuse and neglect to include those who “do not affirm” their kid’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

“What could the penalties be if the investigation concludes that a parent is not affirming of their LGBTQ child? What could the consequences be?” 7News Reporter Nick Minock asked Guzman on Thursday.

“Well, we first have to complete an investigation,” Guzman answered. “It could be a felony, it could be a misdemeanor, but we know that CPS charge could harm your employment, could harm their education, because nowadays many people do a CPS database search before offering employment.”

In other words, if your son told you he identified as a girl and wanted to wear a frilly frock and lipstick to school, you would have to cheer his decision.

To tell him that he was not leaving your house dressed as a girl and that someday he would thank you, could subject you to criminal charges if he griped about you to school authorities. All he’d have to do is utter the magic words “I don’t feel safe” and you’d be in deep trouble. School officials are “mandatory reporters” in Virginia and would be required to turn you in to Child Protective Services.

You’d get to hire a pricey defense attorney and get sucked into a nightmare of trying to protect your family from overreaching government know-it-alls who want to tell you how to rear your children.

This bill has no chance of passing in the Republican majority House this year. But give the gavels to Democrats again and this sort of anti-family legislation will be on the books faster than your son can say “Call me Caitlin.”

Virginia Democrats and others spent all weekend sputtering and trying to do damage control. Yet none of them came out and said they support parental rights.

Because they don’t.

It’s especially telling that the Democrat Minority Leader of Virginia, Delegate Don Scott Jr., D-Portsmouth, called the proposed bill a “distraction.”

Not a horror. Not a rotten idea. Not an abomination.

A distraction.

Don’t think a bill like this one won’t become law in Virginia if Democrats are returned to office.

You do realize that the last time the Dems held a majority in the General Assembly they passed laws hitching Virginia to California’s energy regulations don’t you?

You do realize that the last time these out-of-control lefties occupied the Governor’s Mansion and the state legislature they installed a parole board that freed convicted killers, including cop killers.

They legalized pot without any rules about retail sales.

Their education department made it possible for school authorities to hide transgender kids from their parents and to cover up sexual assaults in schools.

There is no limit to the damage these fanatics will do the minute they get power.

It can NEVER happen again.

As the saying goes: Don’t let them California our beloved Virginia.

  1. Sorry, but this has been overtaken by Bugout Biden’s own USG pronouncement: “US Citizens or immigrants who are born male and changed their gender to female are still required to register. Individuals who are born female and changed their gender to male are not required to register.” US Selective Service.
Full stop.. it’s over… like Roe, a bunch of old white guys has decided for all of us [the Left should be celebrating, right?].

So this is a good example why BR is not in VPAP “news”.

There are about six stories about Guzman’s stupid pronouncement in VPAP News this morning, mainly about the Dem leadership hanging her out to dry. Kerry is another one who, if told that this blog wanted to offer reporting rather than commentary, could easily do it. Another former wage slave of the Batten family….I can easily be as “balanced” as Mercury, no problem. 🙂 But right now no point.

The Selective Service decision is interesting, if true…

yep and nothing like this post, right?

is there a difference in how stuff is “reported” ?

do folks view “bias” and “commentary” as equivalent or different?

Of course, the Republicans are ignoring the long history of parents denying that their children were homosexuals, disowning their homosexual children, and throwing their homosexual children out of the house.
Anyone who has taught for any length of time has stories about crazed parents who harm their own children.

yet these same parents, supporting the above, denies women safe spaces to go to the bathroom, change in privacy without males in them (Vermont), puts them in their prisons to rape and get them pregnant (California), rape them as minors (LCPS), and in Scotland, they change back to their gender after getting out of prison.

And what does the canned talking points about parents notification. Transwomen have been using the women’s room for decades. And how would have forbidding the felon in Loudon County from wearing a skirt prevented the rape?

Those aren’t canned, those are facts. They would have been nailed for it also – because women don’t want men in their areas. Simple: no men in women’s spaces. Treat them the same way you did back a decade ago: you can’t use those spaces or else prosecution. Your side seems to have no problem with it on Christians.

          1. did not answer any of the questions.

Why does Kerry wish to protect abusive parents…??

      1. Teddy007 Avatar

Because hating gay, queers, trans, and bisexuals is more fun that coming up with real policy initiatives.

I suspect that most of those who are really concerned about trans believe that everyone would be cis-hetero-normative if not for bad parenting, bad schools, and grooming. That is why so many keep supporting failed, discredited ideas like conversion therapy. It is also why they are so inconsistent in their beliefs.

      2. She just sees a lack of support as “bad parenting” and not abusive. I imagine if a family forbade their son from dating girls because they didn’t approve of his being straight, she’d be first in line demanding CPS get involved.

Sherlock here said that should a trans-child say they did not want to share their sexual identity with their parents, he would immediately refer them to CPS. Why is Kerry against such a common sense approach…?
