Clouds at Litchfield, S.C.

Clouds… I could sit on a sand dune sipping coffee and watch them all day long. Totally therapeutic. I’m so mellow now, I’ve stopped compulsively checking the blog every two hours. So sad, today is the day we pack up and make the long drive home.

Speaking of the blog, thanks to PeterG for keeping it lively during my absence. (That is no way represents an endorsement of anything he wrote! Just a note of appreciation.)

And so our sojourner slowly returns from holiday, drifting gently down he floats amid visions of clouds luminous and serene, on an innocence’s plunge toward a scabrous and broken earth – the barbarous pit of Virginia politics.

    Welcome back, Jim!

We tried to take over the blog. Rebrand it as “Peter’s Rebellion.” But we couldn’t figure out the access codes.Kept working with “OPE” or POE” as in “Purity of Essence” as in Gen. Jack Ripper, the psychotic Air Force officer from Dr. Strangelove. Seemed to fit.
Next JAB vacation we’ll have it done.

Yes, I noticed late yesterday that Barbarians had briefly overwhelmed the outer ramparts of Jim’s castle, seizing control of some optics, until they’d been driven off howling back into the fetid swamps from whence they’d come.
