   ** and that’s a sell-by, not use-by.

   BTW, such ads and marketing quips have been long shown to negatively impact sales. Remember Schlitz beer and their “Buy Schlitz or I’ll kill you” ad?

      It worked for National Lampoon.

      “If You Don’t Buy This Magazine We’ll Kill This Dog” sold a lot of magazines – and it remains their most famous (or should that be infamous) cover ever.
