A Quick COVID-19 Story

I needed some quarters to feed the vacuum machine at Exxon yesterday, and I got in line in the convenience mart to make change. When the guy in front of me finished his transaction, he dawdled by the checkout counter. In a bit of a hurry, I edged in closer.

The guy turned around and glared. “Hey, give me six feet , man!”

Our lives are changing in ways we don’t yet fully appreciate.

I saw a fellow yesterday in line at a store wearing a T-shirt with the phrase ” If I can turn around and punch you, you’re too damn close” written on the back of it.

Yep, these times are a changing…

You’ve clearly gotten more relaxed, Jim, than when you were sitting on my patio (six feet away in the fresh air) trying to eat chili and drink a nice Hermitage through your N95….

    1. Actually, I was in a hurry and not thinking. (Nothing new about the not-thinking part.)

The passive-aggressive folks are having a ball right now.

But all Jim had to do was cough and sneeze and then puff a little air towards the guy who was taking his time.

And a curious thing. I’m registered to the local govt ALERT – which reports different things happening including auto accidents and the crazy thing is, we’re having a bunch.. ODD!

So how many folks have things they had been planning on getting around to when they got time – and now they got time – and they’re still not doing those things they put off?

    hands up!

I’ll start… procrastination has reached ugly new heights!

    😉

    1. Yesterday, I actually changed the HVAC air filters and replaced the burned-out fluorescent lightbulbs in the garage — tasks I normally would let slip for months.

I replaced the light fixtures in the garage. No more damn fluorescent bulbs. LEDs at half the wattage and twice the light. Total cost was about $10 more per fixture.

Ditto – except the LED can be had for cheap… like $15 per fixture or less if you look around.
